Fort Musselshell Outfitters offers premium Montana big game hunts! Located in the remote and rugged Missouri River Breaks. Our family based business has been providing outstanding trophy big game hunts for 20 years. Large populations of game, vast and remote hunting areas and sensible management all contribute to our quality hunts. We limit the number of bookings each year to ensure our continued success. High success rates of great trophy animals in both archery and rifle hunts and many return hunters tell our story best.

Archery Elk Hunting: Our archery elk hunt is one of the best opportunities you will find to kill Pope and Young bulls anywhere in North America. 5 x 5’s and 6 x 6’s in the 260-320 range are plentiful and it is not uncommon to hunt bulls scoring in the 340’s to 380’s. We have a large resident elk herd on the ranch with a high percentage of bull to cow ratio. We hunt mostly from tree stands and ground blinds, intercepting the elk as they travel back and forth from feed grounds to bedding areas. This is a very unique hunt that can be accomplished without great physical application. Our success in both opportunity and kill is unprecedented.

Antelope Hunting: Typically we see 13 to 16 inch antelope taken. On the archery hunts nearly everyone has opportunities to kill Pope and Young bucks. We hunt water holes, decoy or spot and stalk. We have an excellent antelope hunt for both rifle and bow. This is a great hunt for father/son teams as well as the serious trophy seeker. This hunt can be accomplished without great physical effort.

Rifle Deer Hunting: With a success of nearly 100% year after year this is a rifle hunt not to be passed up. We consistently take 4 x 4 and 5 x 5 mule deer in the 20” to 26” range, often with extra points and occasionally wider spreads. Our whitetail bucks normally score in the 120’s to 140’s with a few larger bucks in the 150’s to 160’s. You have a choice of booking whitetail or muledeer.

Transportation: Hunters fly commercially with excellent connections to Billings, Montana where car rentals are available.
