Hunting in Illinois for Whitetail Deer, Turkey, Waterfowl and Upland Bird

The Hunt Club opened in 1988 and is 12,860 acres of prime wildlife habitat -- a vast acreage of lakes, creeks, agriculture and virgin timber that provides a place for everything from trophy bass fishing to trophy deer hunting.

The Hunt Club is unique in that hunters are offered an opportunity to hunt waterfowl, upland game and big game in an environment reminiscent of the good old days.

Trophy Whitetail Hunts
Ron's deer management program is well established, and well evidenced by the deer harvested over the years. We offer a limited number of 5-day bow hunts, shotgun hunts and muzzleloader hunts. All hunts are trophy hunts only. The Hunt Club is truly a trophy deer hunters paradise - a walk through the lodge will show you some of the magnificent animals that have been harvested since we started hunting bucks in 1991.

Waterfowl Hunting
The Hunt Club is in the Mississippi flyway – 20 miles from the Mississippi River and 70 miles SE of St. Louis. We have exceptional habitat, food and wintering areas for ducks and geese. In addition to the 2,900 acres we have set aside for a waterfowl rest area, our property is adjacent to the 19,000 acre Pyramid State Park and the "Super Lake State Waterfowl Refuge".

Our 250 acre cornfield is surrounded by levees, flooded and is excellent feeding grounds for ducks wintering in the refuge. Other areas of our property offer early season flooded timber hunts leading to mid season flooded corn and bean fields while the frozen days of late January give way to duck hunts on big lakes and goose hunts in corn fields. The Hunt Club offers the serious waterfowler an opportunity no matter the weather brings.

Turkey Hunting
we offer a fantastic opportunity to harvest Eastern wild turkey. Turkey hunts take place in the mature timberstands which run throughout our crop fields and creek bottoms. As with all our game species, we only harvest trophy-quality turkeys.

We have planned our lodge, meals and accommodations for your comfort -- a rustic, casual setting that will enhance your visit here. Ron's dedication to habitat development and wildlife management is matched by Jill's dedication to your comfort under the roof. Meals at The Hunt Club are designed to be as memorable as your hunt and are all carefully prepared by Jill in what she calls the "French peasant food tradition." All peasants should eat like this!
