Hello from Pike County Illinois! Thank you for your interest in West Central Outfitters. We are located just 5 miles south of Pittsfield. Our hunting ground ranges from New Salem to Nebo. We are brand new for 2007! Which means Bigger Bucks! We are a farming family as a whole and I personally have 3 years of guiding experience. During which time I learned the do's and don'ts of outfitting. Too many times I watched ground being over hunted and poorly managed. I have built relationships with some great people who convinced me to go out on my own. I want each client to leave satisfied with the desire to return! The key to this is a mixture of Good Hunters, Good Hunting Ground, and Proper Management.


Low Pressure - Quality Hunts: We don't rely entirely on hunting for income which allows us to take fewer hunters and that always equals better hunting. Our farming seems to go hand in hand with our hunting because we know the ground and what's there. We do our best to manage our herd and that seems to make the largest difference in hunting quality. The county sees a great bit of hunting each year, but there is still no place in the country that you can find this many trophy deer per square mile. The hunters I have now are true hunters that are selective and know how to harvest mature deer. I would like to add a few more clients of this caliber to my mailing list.


Semi-Guided Hunt: We will offer two types of hunts depending on your preference. The first being semi-guided which means you are allowed to use the stands we have set or you may use your own at any location you desire. This is popular with guys who like the freedom and challenge of locating and setting up on a Trophy Deer. This hunt also means you get yourself and gear to and from your hunting location.

Fully Guided Hunt: I will place you in a spot that I think has the most probability. I will also transport you to and from your stand and provide meals. Both hunts will include lodging. Our lodges are rural houses on our farms that have full kitchens and baths and all the comforts of home. I will also track and field dress your deer and prepare it for transportation.

Stands: Our stands are lock-on for bow hunters and ladders for firearm hunters. All stands are new this year and well be well maintained. We are fully insured and licensed and will provided references upon request.

Turkey Hunting: Also don't forget our outstanding Turkey hunting. You won't find more responsive eastern birds anywhere in the country! This is fast becoming very popular for serious turkey hunters. The numbers and size of these Birds is incredible!
