Aeolian Hill Plantation a circa 1875 historic property located between Charleston and Columbia, SC which is characterized by lovely South Carolina country estates. The estate is well named since Aeolian's translation is "where the wind blows". The spacious great house, designed by Bruce and Morgan, architects from Atlanta who also designed Clemson University, features extensive hand blown and stained glass windows, 16' ceilings and spacious porches. The great house has a commanding view of the cotton fields, timber lands, landscaped grounds, rolling meadows, hedge rows, and woodlands.

History: The plantation was started by Reverend J.J. Wannamaker, a signer of The Ordinance of Succession and minister for the convention. His son John E. Wannamaker was named by Thomas Clemson in his will as a lifetime trustee of Clemson University. The plantation has been in continuous operation for 134 years, and is as close to a living history museum as you will find.
