Outback Hunters is a privately owned small farm in Illinois in the Shawnee National Forest, located one mile from Dixon Springs State Park. We are not an outfitter, and there are no guided hunts. Property has only been hunted by the landowners and a few friends for Whitetail Deer and Turkey Archery. Newly open to the public, we invite you to schedule your hunts for the 2007 bow season now.
Our Management Philosophy: You are required to harvest mature bucks of at least 15 in. wide & 4 pts on one side.


Deer and Turkey Hunting: We Offer:
* A three bedroom hunting lodge
* Over 200 acres of deer & turkey
* Easy access trails
* Glossy 8"x10" photo of you with your trophy deer or turkey

We welcome up to 6 Deer Hunters for 6 days and 5 nights, which includes hunting and lodging. We also welcome Spring Turkey Hunters for three days which includes hunt and lodging. Contact Illinois Department of Natural Resources for dates, license fees & regulations.


Our Goal: We encourage do-it-yourself hunters. Our goal is to provide enjoyable hunting and a desire to return from year to year. We hope everyone will leave with a trophy buck and a doe for deer management.

Rules & Restrictions:
* Legal hunters only! (Get your Hunting Permits online)
* 1 buck, 1 doe, 1 turkey per hunter
* Walk in on easy to follow trails

Stands: Must furnish own equipment and deer stands or blinds. Portable stands only! No permanent stands, screw in steps or other devices that pierce the bark of the trees.



Lodging: Your Pope County, IL Hunting Trip with Outback Hunters includes lodging in the cost of the hunt. Our three bedroom hunting lodge will be stocked with the following: food staples (eg. flour, sugar, etc.), kitchen tools and equipment, linens and towels, TV (local channels), DVD,VCR and gas grill.
