Location: We are second generation outfitters with two camps in operation in central and southeastern Montana to ensure our hunters the finest hunting for whitetail, mule deer,antelope and archery elk that Montana has to offer. Out hunting area consists of over 75,000 acres of private ranch leases and the exclusive guide rights on approximately 60,000 acres of National Forest.

Offering: Rifle, Archery, Pistol or Muzzleloader hunts. The hunting method for each day will vary. Mornings and evenings will be spent on stand overlooking transition areas between feeding and bedding areas. The remainder of the day wil be spent spotting, stalking, or calling depending upon the time of year (pre-rut, rut, post-rut), weather conditions, condition of the hunter, as well as species being hunted.

Antelope: We will use various hunting techniques such as spot and stalk, or sitting over water holes but by far the most enjoyable, exciting and productive method is the use of a small buck decoy. We do not offer archery only Antelope hunts but during the first two archery hunts you may include antelope with an elk and deer combo. It is not uncommon to see two, three, or even all four big game species feeding in the same field. Montana has a six week archery season that opens the first or second Saturday in Sept. and closes in mid Oct. Eastern Mt. has long been known for the trophy quality of its Whitetail and Mule Deer.

The Size of Animals: You can expect to take:
Mule Deer: 22 to 27 inch spread, 4 or 5 points per side scoring 145 to 165 Boone & Crockett points.

Whitetail Deer: 17 to 20 inch spread, 4 or 5 points per side scoring 125 to 150 Boone & Crockett points. Although our hunters see and take animals each year larger than the sizes listed above, these are what we feel confident you will have the opportunity to take.

Your Hunt: We are able to provide personal service for quality animals by limiting the number of hunters to 4 or 5 per hunt at each camp. All hunts are fully guided and outfitted with 4 wheel drive being the method of transportation to and from the hunting area. You are only required to bring your personal gear, license, and shooting equipment. J & J Guide Service provides all necessary services and equipment to ensure your success, including guide service, meals, lodging, and trophy care of animals. We follow a strict code of ethics and expect our hunters to do the same as all hunts are conducted by the rules of fair chase.

Accommodations: With comfortable ranch style accommodations we cater to man/wife, father/son or daughter hunts with separate sleeping quarters available with full bath while still providing an excellent opportunity for trophy class animal as our clients have won several state awards from the Montana Outfitter and Guides Association.
