Quality Elk Hunting in Missouri
|
Nestled
in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, Walnut Glen encompasses 1700 acres with
450 acres dedicated to quality elk hunts. Trophy bulls are the rule not
the exception and our hunts are guaranteed. Expect to see Royal 6x6's,
Imperial 7x7's, and with luck, maybe an elusive Monarch bull.
Hunting Preserve: This beautiful hunting preserve is located 10
miles northwest of Rolla, Missouri on the pristine Gasconade River well
known for Smallmouth Bass. If you harvest a bull early and would like
to float the river, bring along your rod and camera. Pheasant, chukar
and quail hunts might be possible at a nearby preserve with advance notice.

Hunting Location and Transportation: Rolla is 100 miles from St. Louis
and Springfield. Rolla is 60 miles from Jefferson City, Missouri. Transportaion
from the St. Louis airport can be arrange for an additional fee. If you
plan to fly privately, Rolla National Airport (KVIH) can accomodate most
aircraft and we will pick you up.
Hunting Terrain: The Ozark terrain consists of steep draws, clear
rocky creeks, grassy meadows and picturesque hardwood forests. You may
choose to hunt with either a rifle or a bow. Stalking a bull for a clean
kill can be a challenge in this terrain. A final stalk on foot after initial
localization with a 4-wheeler or on horseback is customary. We will do
our best to accommodate those with physical limitations. If you would
like to bring your own horse we can board them during your stay. You will
need to bring you own bow or rifle. Marksmanship is a must and we encourage
a practice round after arrival.

Elk Hunts: Typical three day hunts are booked from September through
February with only one party at a time. October is heralded by brilliant
fall foliage with plenty of cover for the bow hunter and close stalks.
Late fall has frosty mornings and variable afternoon temperatures. Winter
days may have snow.
Included: All hunts include a guide who will help you locate the once
in a lifetime trophy bull. Field dressing, Chronic Wasting Disease testing
and transporting you kill to a local processing plant are included. Caping,
processing, mounting and meat shipment are the hunter's responsibility.
Other Services: Expert local taxidermists are willing to mount
your trophy if desired. Hunt prices do not include lodging or meals.
