Hunting
in BC Canada for Elk, Goat, Moose, Mule Deer,
Whitetail Deer, Black Bear, Grizzly
and Sheep
Total
Outdoor Adventures Ltd. guiding area is located within the Bull River watershed.
The Bull River flows through the magnificent Rocky Mountains providing an
exquisite setting for an exceptional outdoor experience. The Bull River
area is abundant with big game.
We offer hunting for Elk, Goat, Moose, Mule
Deer,Whitetail, Black Bear, Grizzly and Sheep.
Elk Hunting: The East Kootenay region of British Columbia is home
to some of the very best wilderness Elk hunting found anywhere with the
average bull ranging from 280" to 330" and larger trophy bulls
up to 360". You will experience vast country that is as wild as it
is beautiful in search of these majestic trophies. The month of September
is the best time to book as it is prime bugle season and Bulls are in full
rut.
Goat
Hunting: Goats live in serious country so if you think you got
what it takes to bring down one of these impressive mountain beasts then
bring your best boots! Be prepared to spend each day climbing to high elevations
over steep rugged terrain and taking shots in precarious places. We are
first class for Mountain Goat and boast book billy's each year. References
we provide will attest to this first rate hunt. To preserve a healthy population
we focus on taking mature billy's only. Book your hunt today as this is
a popular hunt.

Moose Hunting: This is a unique hunt for Rocky Mountain Shiras
Moose. The moose population, as is the case with all species, is carefully
managed throughout British Columbia. Our area consistently produces 40"
to 50" bulls with 55" plus bulls a real possibility. Bow hunters
enjoy the opportunity to hunt these mountain giants in the peek of the
rut while the rifle hunt takes place at the tail end of the rut and is
equally as exciting
Mule
Deer Hunting:If you like hunting Mule Deer then you will truly
love hunting these mountain dwelling beauties. Our area enjoys a very
healthy Mule Deer population with lots of mature bucks.
Whitetail Hunting: Whitetail Deer in our area primarily
inhabit river bottoms of the valley floor. Different from any other species
of deer, these mountain Whitetail s are a must on any Whitetail trophy
hunters list.

Black Bear Hunting: The Bull River area produces Black Bears
squaring 6 to 7 feet with chocolate, cinnamon and blonde color phases
and a two bear limit that about says it all! British Columbia has an estimated
population of 120,000 to 150,000 black bears.
Grizzly Bear Hunting: Grizzly Bears are any trophy hunters
dream and the Bull River supports big interior Grizzlies! Success is very
high, but we have a very limited number of permits.
Sheep Hunting: Given the area's gene pool and the full curl restriction,
any ram taken will be an excellent trophy, with a real "boomer"
ram always a possibility. Typical rams are in the 170-180 class, tags
are limited and advance booking is required. One word of caution, sheep
live in tough terrain and sheep hunts are not easy. Hunters are required
to be in good physical condition and being well prepared will maximize
your opportunity to harvest a ram and your enjoyment of the hunt.
Lodging:
The main bull river lodge was built in 2002 and all household amenities
are available. Clients can enjoy hot showers, a soak in the outdoor hot
tub, or relax and watch a little satellite t.v. after a hard day hunting.
Other developments include several spike camps located in remote locations
and a secondary camp located in the sulpher drainage. Hunter s quarters
are separate from the main lodge; they are rustic, with separate bunks,
wood heat and high density foam for mattresses giving the sportsman comfort
in a wilderness setting.
