Encounters finds it's home nestled at the base of the eastern foothills
of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. 200 km NW of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Hilly and swampy terrain with good cover of large pines and aspen guaranty
that potential game reach maturity. This area is known worldwide for excellent
trophy game.
Alberta
Black Bear Hunting makes for one of the most beautiful and scenic
hunts available in the world. Many of our black bears are off-color. We
have a high success rate, 2 bear limit. Choose any weapon. Fall and spring.
Alberta
Wolf Hunting.
If you are up to a challenge this is the hunt for you. Wolves are the
"Ghosts of the Rockies", and Alberta’s hardest trophy. They are big (up
to 180 lbs) and smart. These crafty canines don’t come easy, but well
worth the patients. We combine wolf hunts with coyote hunting and ice
fishing. Wolf Hunts are conducted using heated blinds over bait and calling.
We are Alberta's Premier wolf outfitters taking more wolf hunters than
any other outfitters. Choose any weapon Dec.-Feb
Archery
Bighorn Sheep in the World famous "Canmore Bow Zone". This area is
one of Alberta's most scenic, and by far has produced more P&Y bighorns
than any were else in North America - not to mention a few B&C rams.
Alberta
Whitetail Deer Hunting. Alberta is renowned for its large whitetail
deer, tipping the scales at well over 300 lbs and our area is no exception.
We have whitetail bucks in the 130”-200” class and our clients usually
see a couple of these giants within range each week along with smaller
bucks and does. All of our whitetail hunts are conducted from tree stands
or ground blinds, hunting crop or timber country. Bow hunts run from Aug
- Oct, Rifle (or any weapon ) Nov – Nov.
Alberta Mule Deer Hunting: Alberta is a sleeper for great mule
deer and we have some monsters. Most of Alberta is on draw for mule deer
and with limited pressure and great habitat big bucks result. We have
mule deer in the 140”-200” class and our clients usually see large herds.
Most mule deer hunts are conducted by stalking or stand hunting near crop
land or logging blocks. If you're looking for a massive Muley look no
further. Bow hunts Aug –Oct, Rifle (or any weapon) Nov – Nov.
Alberta
Elk Hunting: Elk are awesome, the most majestic of the deer species,
and in my opinion the most exciting and challenging hunt you can go on.
If you have ever heard an elk bugle you know what I’m talking about and
if you haven’t your missing out. In our area we have elk in the 260”-350”
class and are restricted to 3 or 6 points or larger depending on zones
to increase the age structure of our ever expanding herds. Elk hunts are
conducted using tree stands, stalking and calling during rut. "NEW JET
BOAT HUNT NOW AVAILABLE" Bow hunts Aug.-Oct, Rifle (or any weapon) Sep-Nov.
Alberta
Moose Hunting: We have trophy moose 40”-55” and have seen larger.
This is due to Alberta’s new moose management program and it’s making
moose hunting magic. All moose tags are now on draw for residents and
has very limited guaranteed tags for non-residents. We typically hunt
the forest and bogs for these majestic swamp monsters. Most moose hunts
are conducted from stands, stalking, and calling during rut. Bow hunts
Aug-Oct, Rifle (or any weapon) Nov.
Exotic
Sheep. We now have three varieties which are bred for their horn growth,
and plan to add more breeds in the near future. Our most common are the
Barbados or Black bellied sheep, commonly called Corsican Rams. We also
have Jacobs sheep commonly called Four horn Rams. Also in our breeding
program we have Rare Afghani Carcal Rams. These sheep are also available
to any trophy hunter as well as breeders, or for meat. The sheep are feral
throughout our enclosure and quite elusive and challenging for any hunter.
Again we prefer bow hunters, but also welcome rifle and muzzle loader
hunters. A lodge fee also applies to hunters just hunting exotics. Includes
food, lodging and guide.
Wild
Boar: Boar hunting can make the most seasoned hunter turn tale and
run. We have some of North Americas purest Wild boars, from one of the
purest gene pools in the world, as nature intended them to be with no
domestic blood, and we intend to keep them this way. These elusive and
very aggressive boars can reach over 250 lbs and are very challenging
when it comes to estate hunting. There was a time when Noblemen and Kings
were the exclusive stalkers of these fearsome beasts. Well known and sought
after in Russia and Western Europe, only recently have they made their
way to Alberta. Wild boars are some of the best table fair available any
were, and much more entertaining then your local meat department. We have
boars for sale for breeding, hunting and meat - as well as guided trophy
boar hunting on a trophy fee basis. We prefer bow hunting for the added
challenge but rifle and muzzle loaders hunters are welcome too. Regardless
of your preference of weapon, due to the nature of these animals - "at
your own risk" - is the key phrase.
Additional Activities: photo safaris, fishing, snowshoe hare, upland
birds and waterfowl hunts available upon request.
